Ao hails from a country known for its deep respect for the sport, he has quickly excelled in the sport by conquering challenging routes and accomplishing various awards. On the global stage, he won the gold medal in men’s lead at the 2022 Climbing World Cup in Jakarta and the silver medal in men’s lead at the 2022 Climbing World Cup in Innsbruck. In season 2023 he placed fifth at the same category at the IFSC World Cup in Bern. Among his most difficult climbs are the 8a boulder in Fontainebleau and the 9a in lead climbing.

In the future, he would like to focus more on outdoor climbing, especially in Europe, and excel again at the World Cup.
